Lal Teer was established in 1995 and is 100% privately owned. It is a subsidiary of Multimode Bangladesh Holding, a leading Bangladeshi corporation with activities in different sectors among which agriculture. Lal Teer has the head office in Dhaka. It employs 426 staff on fixed contracts and 400+ temporary workers. It cooperates with 5000+ farmers for seed propagation and has a network of 8 main sales offices and 25 regional sales offices with 180 extension works. The company develops (hybrid and OP) seed varieties of vegetables, rice, potato, pulses and oilseeds that are suitable for thelocal conditions, thereby aiming to support farmers to improve their farming and increase their yield.

Interdisciplinary Centre for Food Security (ICF) / BAU Bangladesh
ICF, as a research centre at BAU, performs (action) research, provides educational courses and implements multidisciplinary projects and programmes in the area of food security, environmental management and climate change. It was established in 2012 with the support of Centre for Development of Innovation (CDI) of Wageningen University and Research Centre (WUR), aiming to enhance Bangladeshi agricultural research and education to deal with complex issues of agricultural production, rural development, food security and environmental protection. ICF employs 34 staff.
